Practicum Placement Openings

2-3 Masters level trainees (MSW or MFT Trainee) for 1st and 2nd year students.

• Minimum of 16- 24 hours per week, 2-3 days/week
• Placement starts in Summer and fall, determined as needed to accommodate program and Trainee needs
• Required attendance: 2 hour group supervision (Thurdays), 1 hour didactic training, and 1 hour individual supervision per week
• Required bilingual Spanish speaking skills
• Stipend available

Program Description:

Familias Unidas serves a culturally diverse community, emphasizing in the Latino community. The services we provide are: individual therapy, family/child therapy, and case management services.

Trainees will learn crisis intervention skills, assessment and treatment planning, diagnostic formulation, be exposed to various treatment modalities (CBT, Narrative therapy, Family systems), and working with trauma and attachment. Trainees will have an opportunity to work with children, youth, adults, and families in an integrated and coordinated manner.
